HVAC - Neighbors A/C & Heating finds a faulty split central air condition system install!

 

This family is very lucky Neighbors A/C & Heating was called out! 

What we find will shock you!

Neighbors A/C & Heating received a call by a referred customer.

The entire family (including children) were complaining of headaches and a bad smell.

Marlo, our amazing technician with many years of experience and is highly skilled, thoroughly went through the #hvac system and found a relatively new attic set up installed by another #HVACcontractor. Unfortunately. this happens more often then you would think.

The downstairs setup that was installed by another company.

They (the other company in Houston Texas should be ashamed of what we found) installed a vent pipe that you put in the kitchen exhaust to vent the smoke out. The furnace vent requires a double wall flue pipe specially made for the HVAC furnace venting. This as you can see, is not a two layer pipe. This incorrect set up was releasing carbon in the house and it was giving them migraine headaches, because it's not sealed correctly!
The furnace doesn't have the right pipe on here. We're going to make the corrections.
Also, here at the back of the furnace, the media filtering and plenums are not a good fit. They (again, other company in Houston Texas) didn't match the plenum up with the furnace and boot the media filter to the back of the furnace. So we're going to make that correction too!

I cannot believe this, this is a number one NO-NO right here!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone use a four-inch aluminum vent piping that people use for the kitchen exhaust.
By law, we don't use this kind of piping. They (the other company shouldn't being doing installs) just laid the old piping down on the ground, which they should have used if they didn't have the correct flue piping.
But, NO, they (the other company that is located in Houston Texas and is completely unbelievably unprofessional) ended up using this aluminum flex piping. We can re pipe out the vent pipe 4" pipes so that it won't release carbon monoxide in the customer's house like it was doing.

This is a no brainer!

The customer didn't want to call the other company (right decision) out that installed this faulty situation here so Neighbors A/C & Heating is here to make all the corrections.
